SCOTT BASE WWTP

Designed, installed and commissioned fully automatic containerized wastewater treatment system at Scott Base, Antarctica in 2002-2003. The work executed for IWS Ltd. The treatment concept is based on Aerated Fixed Bed wastewater treatment technology which was specifically adapted to harsh antarctic environment and sustain quite challenging inputs, i.e. highly variable hydraulic flows, extremely high organic loading, sea water ingress, close proximity to ablutions, etc. The design included a number of innovative and unique solutions that allowed to meet all stringent requirements of the Project.
