VERMIBIOFILTERS
UPGRADE

In 2016 - 2017 WS carried out a scope of works to upgrade six vermibiofilter plants (BioFiltro NZ) - Kaka Point, Owaka, Tapanui, Lawrence, Stirling and Edendale. The scope included redesign and reengineering of the plants, optimization of the worm bed structure, nutrient balancing, addition of clarifiers, improvement of water distribution via introducing the "breathing irrigation" system, alkalinity control and monitoring program. Achieved full compliance with the Resource Consent.
